J B Embry, 80, of Bloomington, IL, formerly of Stonington, IL passed away at 3:35 a.m. on Tuesday (July 20, 2010) in Heartland Health Care, Normal, IL.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday (July 23, 2010) at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Old Stonington Cemetery. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family via e-mail at www.dawson-wikoff.com.
Mr. Embry was born on September 23, 1929 in Fordsville, KY, the son of Daniel Boone and Ada Queen (Nash) Embry. He was a farmhand and coal miner. He married Betty E. Wasson on February 22, 1949.
Surviving are his wife: Betty E. Embry of Bloomington, IL; sons: Tim Embry and his significant other: Sarah Mikulecky of Bloomington, IL, Jeff (Bev) Embry of Cross Plains, TN, Brian (Penny) Embry of Knox, IN; daughters: Nola Embry of Bloomington, IL, Karen (Paul) Kesner of Spring Valley, IL; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.

So sorry to hear of JB's passing. He always made me feel welcome in your home. I still remember the many breakfasts we had out and the trip to Branson so many years ago. I know he will be greatly missed by all of you. May God bless each of you in the days and months to come.
