J B Embry, 80, of Bloomington, IL, formerly of Stonington, IL passed away at 3:35 a.m. on Tuesday (July 20, 2010) in Heartland Health Care, Normal, IL.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday (July 23, 2010) at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Old Stonington Cemetery. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family via e-mail at www.dawson-wikoff.com.
Mr. Embry was born on September 23, 1929 in Fordsville, KY, the son of Daniel Boone and Ada Queen (Nash) Embry. He was a farmhand and coal miner. He married Betty E. Wasson on February 22, 1949.
Surviving are his wife: Betty E. Embry of Bloomington, IL; sons: Tim Embry and his significant other: Sarah Mikulecky of Bloomington, IL, Jeff (Bev) Embry of Cross Plains, TN, Brian (Penny) Embry of Knox, IN; daughters: Nola Embry of Bloomington, IL, Karen (Paul) Kesner of Spring Valley, IL; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.
